AMJC Assembly #383 FN Report 11/20/10

AMJC Assembly #383 FN Report 11/20/10:
We continue to plan an activity to celebrate Archbishop Michael J. Curley Assembly # 383 fiftieth anniversary next spring. We are considering a harbor cruise of Baltimore or Washington, or a dinner/dance.
To date our Color Corps has participated in twenty-three activities, three since the last report. These include
the Mass for people with disabilities, the Mass honoring veterans and the memorial Mass for Council 2203. For the rest of November we have three more memorial Masses and the Mass for Cardinal Wuerl.
For the Exemplification of the Fourth Degree we have sent our reservation and money for the hospitality room, brought payment for the assembly ad in the program book, the ad will follow electronically and are working on commercial ads.
We have five firm candidates for the fourth degree and one transfer. We have contacted eight knights, six of which look very promising. We have also started visiting other councils affiliated with our Assembly.
AMJC Assembly is sponsoring an oratorical contest for seventh and eighth grade students with the theme "Catholic Patriots". St, Joseph Regional Catholic School in Beltsville, MD and St, Mary of the Mills Catholic School in Laurel, MD are participating. We are working on getting Holy Redeemer Catholic School in College Park, MD involved.
We are having our Christmas Party on Friday December 11 at council 2809 starting at 1830.It will be a pot luck supper and will include a visit by Santa Claus.
Assembly #383 does not have a EIN, tax number. I have contacted the Supreme Advocate and have not been called back. Will call them again.
